How to change your water goal in Frewli

Starting goal is the setting you choose. Today's target combines that setting with the day's context, while Logged fluids shows your recorded drinks. Here is how to change one without confusing the others.

The quick version

Open You and use the minus or plus controls beside Starting goal. Each tap changes it by 0.1 L (100 ml), and changes save automatically. Return to Today to check the adjusted target. Changing the setting does not log a drink.

These steps match Frewli 1.1.1, checked October 16, 2026. Find the current release on the App Store. This guide explains tracking controls, not how much you should drink.

1. Separate the three numbers

Starting goal, today's target, and logged drinks
NumberWhere to find itWhat it means
Starting goalYouYour chosen starting value for the app's daily plan.
Today's adjusted goalThe right side of the progress fraction on TodayThe target for today, including relevant adjustments.
Logged fluidsThe left side of that fraction on TodayThe volume of drinks recorded for today, including permitted imports.

For example, the left number can stay unchanged while the right number rises after a workout import. The app updated the plan; it did not add a drink.

2. Change Starting goal on iPhone

  1. Open Frewli and select You.
  2. Find the Starting goal card at the top.
  3. Tap minus to reduce the setting or plus to increase it.
  4. Check the displayed value. It saves automatically; there is no separate Save button.
  5. Return to Today to review your current progress and target.

The adjuster allows 0.8–5.0 L in 0.1 L steps. Those are software limits, not a recommended intake range.

3. Try a setting-change example

Imagine your Starting goal is 2.0 L and you want to change that saved setting to 2.2 L. Tap plus twice. If you had already logged 500 ml, changing Starting goal still leaves 500 ml logged.

You have changed the plan's starting value by 200 ml, not recorded 200 ml consumed. Do not add a water entry to make the setting change take effect.

Today's adjusted target need not increase by exactly 200 ml. Other inputs affect it, and a day whose goal was already reached follows the completed-day behavior below. These example values demonstrate the controls; they are not drinking targets.

4. See why today's target differs

Starting goal is one input. Frewli can also adjust the plan using workouts, conditions, recorded extra heat, feedback, and recent logging history. The result can differ from the number on You.

On Today, tap the line below the progress display with the information icon. Before completion it shows the amount remaining; afterward it reads All set for today · listen to your thirst. This opens One goal for your day. Expand What adjusts your goal to review the displayed context.

When a workout is present, the Activity adds line describes a contribution to the goal. It is not fluid you consumed. Check Training if a session was imported or edited; avoid adding a duplicate manual workout.

If Logged fluids changed instead, review your drink history and imports. The Apple Health sync guide explains how imported records differ from the daily plan.

5. Understand a day whose goal was reached

After you reach a day's target, Frewli holds that day's saved base steady against changes to Starting goal and non-workout adjustments. Raising Starting goal later that day therefore does not necessarily raise today's displayed target.

Workout demand can still change the target. A newly imported workout, an edited session, or a change affecting its estimate can adjust the goal even after it was reached. Completed does not mean every setting and estimate is frozen.

The next day's plan uses your current Starting goal together with that day's other inputs. Previously saved daily targets remain their own records; changing today's setting does not bulk-rewrite them.

Correcting or deleting a logged drink can also put today's consumed total below its target again. Keep the record accurate rather than preserving a completion badge with an incorrect drink.

Hydration reminders pause when the daily goal is complete. Workout recovery reminders are separate; completion does not turn off every notification. See the reminder routine guide for the actual controls.

A completion message describes logged progress against the app's estimate. It does not measure your hydration or establish a personal intake requirement.
