The quick version
Open You > Your progress > Details & trends and scroll to Environment. Choose Use Current Location to get a new device location and weather, or use a manual fallback. Read the result message before treating the displayed conditions as refreshed.
These steps match Frewli 1.1.1, checked October 24, 2026. Find the current release on the App Store. This guide explains product inputs and their limits.
1. Read the Environment card
The card shows the selected location, your location-permission state, and temperature, humidity, and UV inputs. Its labels answer different questions:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Location | Permission status, such as Allowed, Denied, Off, or Not asked yet. |
| Weather source: GPS | The selected place came from device location. |
| Weather source: Manual | You are using selected coordinates, such as a city preset. |
GPS or Manual is not a freshness indicator. The card does not show a weather-update timestamp. Check the message produced by your refresh, especially after an error.
2. Use your current device location
Tap Use Current Location. Frewli requests location access while using the app if permission has not been decided, then tries to obtain your location and weather. On success, it shows Current location weather updated. and uses that place.
The page can also try current location automatically when opened with the default Bratislava location or a saved Current Location selection. An already granted permission can therefore produce an update before you tap the button.
If access is denied or Location Services are off, the card offers Open Location Settings. You can review an app’s access in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services; Apple explains the location controls. Choose the access you want rather than assuming the app requires Always or Precise Location.
3. Choose a manual fallback when needed
After a location or weather failure, Manual location fallback becomes available. When a manual place is selected, you can also open it with Show manual fallback. Choose a city preset, or enter decimal coordinates in Lat and Lon and tap the checkmark, labelled Save custom training location for accessibility.
Latitude accepts −90 to 90; longitude accepts −180 to 180. Use a decimal point and keep a negative sign where needed. For example, the London preset corresponds to latitude 51.5072 and longitude -0.1276. Reversing the two is a different location even when both numbers fit the ranges.
Manual describes your choice of coordinates. Weather is still fetched for that place, so this is not an offline weather mode. Selecting a place starts its weather refresh; there is no separate final Save button for the whole card.
4. Refresh the selected place and read the result
Refresh [location name] Weather fetches weather for the currently saved coordinates. It does not obtain a new device location. If you have moved and want the new place, use Use Current Location instead.
For example, Refresh Bratislava Weather keeps Bratislava selected. Success reports Updated weather inputs for Bratislava. Buttons show Refreshing or become unavailable while a request is running.
A failed refresh keeps the last saved environment. A manual place can already be selected and saved even if its weather lookup fails, so a new location name beside the old numbers is possible. Read the failure message and retry when available; do not assume that selecting a city proves its conditions loaded.
5. Return to Today with the right expectation
Environment inputs contribute to the daily plan. They do not guarantee a different goal after every refresh, and a target already reached today can remain fixed. The water-goal guide explains the starting setting and today’s target.
Daily weather and weather attached to an individual workout are separate. Changing Environment does not replace every workout’s conditions. Individual recovery uses that activity’s attached conditions when available, or neutral inputs; it does not simply inherit the daily card. Keep workout records and current check-in values accurate alongside the location you selected.
