The quick version
Open Training and tap the plus button. Choose Workout, set Duration, and enter when the session Finished. Leave unknown optional details blank, then tap Add and view Today. Check that the same session is not already imported from Health before adding it manually.
These steps match Frewli 1.1.1, checked October 20, 2026. Find the current release on the App Store. The examples explain recording controls, not exercise or fluid recommendations.
1. Check Training before creating a session
Look through Training for the activity, duration, and time. If you connected Apple Health, open You > Data sources > Sync now before deciding the session is missing.
Open a possible match and expand How this estimate works. Its Source can identify a Manual record or an Apple Health import. Use the existing session when it represents the same workout; a second manual entry is not needed.
A manual record and a later Health import are not guaranteed to merge automatically. Check again if an import arrives after you created a manual session.
2. Enter the basics and only the details you know
- In Training, tap plus. An empty history also offers Add workout.
- Choose Workout: Running, Cycling, Strength, Hiking, Combat, Skating, or Other.
- Use Duration to set the session length.
- Set the actual date and time under Finished.
Duration moves in 5-minute steps, within 5–480 minutes. These are software control limits, not suggested workout lengths. Finished accepts current or past times, not a future session.
Expand More details (optional) for Distance in km, Active energy in kcal, and Average heart rate in bpm. Leave unknown values blank rather than inventing measurements; the estimate works with type and duration.
The distance field accepts a decimal comma, such as 7,5, as well as a decimal point. If the save button is disabled, check optional fields for invalid text or out-of-range numbers.
3. Check Finished against the start shown in history
The form asks when you finished. Frewli derives the start by subtracting Duration. Training groups sessions by that start date and shows the start time in each row.
| Finished | Derived start | Training group |
|---|---|---|
| 18:00 | 17:15 | The same calendar day |
| 00:10 today | 23:25 yesterday | Yesterday |
A session ending just after midnight can therefore appear under Yesterday. Do not add another copy because it is absent from today's group. Check the previous day and the derived start first.
4. Save once and review Today
Check the activity, duration, finish date, and any optional metrics, then tap Add and view Today. The session is saved as Manual and the app opens Today.
Adding a workout updates the plan; it does not record a drink. The activity contribution is an estimate for the relevant day. A session grouped under yesterday does not become a today-starting workout just because you saved it today.
For a session finished today and less than three hours ago, saving also selects it for recovery. Older entries can still be recorded; do not expect every historical session to open a new active recovery card.
Open the saved workout for its Workout fluid estimate and explanation. These are estimates, not measured sweat loss. The workout water and sodium guide explains how to record drinks and label details separately.
5. Handle a mistake or duplicate carefully
This version does not offer an editor for an existing workout's basic type, duration, or finish time. To replace an incorrect manual record, open it, use Workout options (the three-dot menu), choose Remove from Frewli, and confirm Remove. Then add the corrected session once.
Removal also removes that workout's linked Frewli recovery records. Check the source and details before confirming, especially when deciding which duplicate to keep. Removing an imported workout from Frewli leaves its original in Apple Health.
Adding a workout manually in Frewli does not export it as an Apple Health workout. Health import and Water sharing are separate directions; the Health sync guide explains the connection and Water permissions.
