Choose whether to share optional app usage events, then check the saved switch. Use the right control for cloud records, Apple Health access and this website.

The quick version

Open You > Privacy and set Usage analytics off or on. The choice saves immediately; there is no Save button. Return to this screen to check it. This switch controls optional app usage measurement, while cloud sync, Apple Health permissions and website analytics have separate controls.

These controls were checked for Frewli 1.1.2 on October 31, 2026. You can keep recording drinks with Usage analytics off.

1. Find the app’s analytics switch

  1. Open Frewli on your iPhone and choose You.
  2. Open Privacy, described as Usage analytics and app policies.
  3. Find Usage analytics at the top of the Privacy screen.

The text below the switch explains its purpose: sharing app usage events to help improve Frewli. Links to Privacy Policy, Health Data Use, Terms of Service and Free Access sit below it. Opening a policy does not change the switch.

2. Choose off or on

Turn Usage analytics off to stop optional app usage collection. Turn it on again if you want to resume sharing those events. The app applies and saves the change when you move the switch; you do not need to sign in, refresh cloud sync or confirm another form.

When no choice has been saved, this app setting defaults to on. The screenshot shows an off example chosen for a demonstration. It is not the default for a new installation.

The setting is stored locally for the installation you are using. Check it separately on another installation rather than assuming that an email sign-in carries the choice across devices.

3. Check the saved choice

Go back to You, open Privacy again and read the switch state. You can also close and reopen Frewli, then return to the same screen. This checks the saved preference without creating a drink or changing your account.

If it is not the state you intended, set it again and recheck. For help, note your Frewli version, iOS version and what happens after reopening. You do not need to include drink history, account details or private health information in a support screenshot.

4. Understand what this choice covers

When configured and enabled, Frewli uses Google Analytics for Firebase for fixed screen and feature events. For example, an app event can record that water was added from Today. Its event fields do not include how many millilitres you drank.

Frewli’s app event interface excludes health quantities, workout measurements, personal profile fields, location coordinates, email addresses and cloud account IDs. That describes the usage events; it does not mean those records are absent from your device or cloud account. Read the privacy policy for the broader data explanation.

Off is a collection choice. It does not submit an account-deletion or historical-data request. Google documents disabling and re-enabling Analytics collection separately from other data controls.

5. Choose the control for your task

You want to…Use…
Stop optional app usage eventsYou > Privacy > Usage analytics
Check cloud records or email sign-inYou > Account & sync
Change Health reading or writingThe separate Apple Health permissions
Stop this website’s analyticsThe website Privacy page’s analytics control

For example, if you want to keep logging drinks and using your existing Health connection while opting out of app usage measurement, change Usage analytics. You do not need to delete your account or disconnect Health for that task. The switch does not change either connection.

For the other tasks, follow the account and cloud-sync guide or the Apple Health permissions guide.

6. Set website analytics separately

On fluidiq.app, open Privacy > Website Analytics. Choose Turn off website analytics and check for Website analytics is off in this browser. The button then offers Turn on website analytics.

This choice is saved for the browser you are using; it does not move the iPhone app’s Usage analytics switch. The website also respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, so its status can instead say that analytics is off because of your browser privacy preference. If a choice cannot be saved, read the message below the button.
